The D-MAN!

Damon
How about a post all about me!
Time is flying and my parents and brother can’t believe I am almost one year old!
If you remember my mom raving about my eyes when I was born you should see them now. Like my brother, until I was about 6 months my eyes remained a sort of grey color but now they have taken on a beautiful brown, just darker than Houston and daddy’s. I also learned how to clap pretty early on and loved to practice while mom changed my diaper. Well at least mom would encourage this because she needs anything to keep me still long enough to clean my bum (she has gotten much faster BTW).

8 Months
1 tooth!
I have the best brother in the world.

By 8 months I was becoming even more active. So much so that became a little behind on learning to sit and stand. At 8 months, I had already learned how to army crawl but wasn’t able to sit up (sitting requires being still for more than a second and that isn’t really my thing).
See my progression:

9 Months
2-3 teeth! (two bottom teeth are fused together)

By 9 months, I hadn’t discovered standing on my own yet and because my weight was tracking a little low, the doctor recommended I see an occupational therapist. However, I did learn to stand about a week after we saw the doctor so all is well and I’m right on track.
Standing for the first time at the library:

10 Months
5 teeth!
Since I started eating solid foods, I pretty much like anything but pea mush. This is a good thing because the doc says I still need to bulk up a bit. Usually to entertain me during big-people-meal-time, my mom will give me some soft finger food. I’m still trying to get the hang of eating like that and often gag. I just need a little more practice chewing.

11 Months
7 teeth!
Now that I am 11 months old, I am officially crawling, standing with no support and walking along furniture. Everyone is wondering when I will start walking… maybe in a couple months. Dadda loves that both Houston and I can come greet him at the door. That is one of the best parts of the day!

I also love to wrestle. There have been a few times when I’ll be standing minding my own business then, bam, I’ll just lift my arms and body-slam my mom or brother out of no where. Everyone gets a real kick out of this including me.

My sleep has improved which makes momma (thus everyone) very happy. Currently I will sleep from about 7:30pm to 6 or 6:30am straight. Mom never thought this day would come and hope it lasts! I also have 2 naps during the day. Ever since I turned 11 months old, mom has been determined to have me learn to put myself to sleep for naps. Though it has been a rough road seeing that I am extremely stubborn and it often takes over an hour for me to get to sleep.

Check out my beautiful locks! Still working on the sides of my head though I hear curly blond mullets are coming back into style.
Business in the front…
Party in the back!
Gotta love morning hair!

I’m not sure if you have caught this or not, but you’ll probably notice in many videos my family calling me “D-man”. This is a nic-name developed entirely by my brother, Houston and mom and dad caught on too. I think it suits me.
Here are some other new tricks; all are cute and fun except one (biting).

Loving my new coat and shoes I got for Christmas!!

Halloween 2012

Sorry, still catching up!
Damon
Look how cute I am in my first Halloween costume.

On Halloween, we went to a church “trunk or treat” party which was great! It gave us a good warm up for the real thing. After the party we went to a near by neighborhood and loaded up. If you can’t tell, my brother is a snowman, dad is an army man (thanks for the get-up Uncle Tim), and mom is a nun.
